Phi Phi Banyan Villa

Keeping it simple, just do yourself a favour and book elsewhere. It gets the job done but why pay all this money for that when there has to be better out there. I won’t ever be visiting again. The only few good things that came with this place was the location, pool and the breakfast. The negatives about this place go on though. Starting off with the bed/concrete slab. These beds are very hard to the point I had a sore body in the morning and I’m only a young fella. The rooms themselves got the job done though (Has a safe and a fridge with a couple of daily free waters) but are very outdated. The doors to the balcony didn’t shut properly which meant you got uninvited visitors welcoming themselves in. Our shower for some reason smelt horrific. The walls are also very thin and the ground is very creaky so if you are a light sleeper this will definitely keep you up as you hear everything. On our first night hopping into bed we were met with a bottom sheet covered in sand. We ended up sleeping just on top of the bed this night. The next morning at 9am I asked them to please change the sheet as it had sand on it (not from us) and if we could have a roll of toilet paper as we had none and the receptionist said she would sort it. By 1pm our room still hadn’t been touched but after arriving back from a tour at 7pm it was all sorted.

We read reviews online and were a little worried. We did like the location everyone said so we just decided to book it. Upon arriving off the ferry from Phuket a man was waiting for us to take us to our room. He carried my bag and led us right to the hotel lobby. The location is no joke. Right in front of the beach, restaurants and shopping. Also, super close to the pier for a long tail boat day. The guy that walked us to the hotel also then waited and walked us to our room, still carrying our luggage. We were not expecting this kind of customer service experience right off the bat. The lady at the lobby was also so sweet and made check in so easy. The hotel grounds are beautiful. The pool looked super nice and we loved all the plants and flowers around. We had a room with garden view. The room was super clean. You can tell they haven’t been refurbished in a while but you are in a small beach town. They have towels at the front desk you can check out for beach days which was super convenient. We had breakfast included and the buffet was great. A lot of variety of food, pastries and drinks and amazing beach front views. Your breakfast is literally on the beach. Upon checking out of our room they carried my bag to the front desk, held it till we were getting on our ferry and then carried it not only to the ferry pier but the whole way on the boat. I have never seen workers with so much care and tentativeness. This was top notch service. From the two guys who helped us and the front desk lady we would come back and stay here time and time again. Such an amazing experience for us.

Started off on a good note with a bell boy waiting for us at the dock, he helped us take our luggage straight from the dock. Greatly appreciated. However, it goes downhill from here. Within 15 minutes of us being in the room, my partner and I got bit by mosquitoes a few times each. WOULD NOT RECOMMMEND to anyone who is allergic to mosquitoes. I even got bit on my lip a few times at night while sleeping. Unpleasant experience. Only pro of this place is its proximity to the pier. Staff at the front desk were courteous and pleasant.
